Do you have a book or a collection of books, maps or prints that
you would like to sell?

Rare Books Cafe has specialized in buying and selling excellent quality rare books, manuscripts, maps, prints and first editions since 1971.

We buy single books and entire libraries and in most cases, by selling to us you can achieve higher prices than you might at auction, because neither a seller's
nor a buyer's premium will be charged. We welcome inquiries about material you would like to offer. Please give us as much information as you can,
including the following:

  • The author and title
  • The publisher and the place and date of publication
  • The type and condition of the binding and the
    general condition of the volume(s)

Please understand that we will not be able to make a valuation or offer any definite opinion until we have viewed the book(s). After a preliminary discussion or correspondence, you may be asked to send the book(s) to us for examination. Our insurance covers items in transit to us and while they are on our premises, but please do not send material of any kind to us without first having spoken or corresponded with a member of our staff. When we make an offer of a certain price for a book or a collection of books, this is not the same as an appraisal or an estimate of their retail value.

We can advise you on shipping and should we purchase items from you, we are able to pay by several methods and in most major currencies.
